The Mythical Story of How Gaia Kids Club Began

“The earlier mystique of the Earth seems to have vanished from human consciousness.”

The Story of Our Remembering

Long ago, humans and animals spoke the same language.

Not in words, but in songs, signs, and the silent knowing of the heart.

We walked the land together, shared the rivers, followed the seasons,

and cared for each other like kin.

Over time, that language grew quiet.

Our world became louder, busier, and we began to forget.

But the animals never forgot.

They have been watching, waiting, and sending their signs

— hoping we would listen again.

One day, the Animal Council came forward.

They found someone whose heart had stayed open-

someone who could hear their calls,

feel their presence, and remember the old ways.

She was asked to help children and families

remember this ancient connection.

Not by reading about animals in books alone,

but by meeting them — eye to eye, spirit to spirit —

and learning their gifts firsthand.

This is the heart of our group.

We gather to listen to the wild,

to walk with respect and joy,

to hear the wisdom of feather, fur, fin, and scale,

and to carry those lessons into our human lives.

Because when children see their own soul patterns reflected

in the eyes of an animal friend,

something magical happens —

and the old language begins to live again.
